Notes and Information
The Infant Toddler certificate program is an ICCB approved extension of the Early Childhood Education A.A.S. degree program (ECE 0005). Students completing this certificate will also earn the Illinois Gateways to Opportunity, Level 3 Infant Toddler Credential.
**Gateways level 3 credential requires the minimum of 10 hours of supervised experience with infants, toddlers, and their families or 450 hours of documented work experience with infants, toddlers, and their families.
Career Opportunities: Infant toddler care is in great demand, with few options for working parents. The Infant Toddler Certificate prepares individuals to provide high-quality child care in a center-based program or home environment to the youngest and most vulnerable age group. While these individuals qualify to work as assistant teachers with older age groups; this certificate program emphasizes high quality care with infants and toddlers which make them especially attractive candidates to work with infants and toddlers in center-based programs. And, also makes these individuals better prepared to provide high-quality child care service in their homes.
