A comprehensive introduction to concepts of precision agriculture. Topics covered will include: Global Position Systems (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sending, yield monitoring and mapping, production variable measurement and management, and precision variable equipment. The class will also address the analysis/economics and environmental implications of precision agriculture. The course will include a lab component that will reinforce the agricultural industry applications of the topics covered in the course. ESRI’s ArcGIS software will be used.
